It’s unfortunate name, swipe files. It sounds unethical. Please understand, I DO NOT forgive plagiarism! But every so-called “internet marketing guru” openly admitted to having swipe file that they use when they need a little inspiration.

So what’s swipe file and how you use it legally and ethically?

Basically, every time you find your ad or sales letter that makes you want to run and take your wallet … stop and print a copy of the first! Highlight or circle parts of your ads have been excited and eager to make a purchase. Then store it in a folder or notebook. This is your swipe file.

For Newsletter Publishing Success Keep Your Focus on What Matters part 2

For me, what most often works is to STOP what I’m doing (surfing the Internet for ideas, other people read books or newsletters, asking others what they thought I should write about, review the problem) and just SIT for several minutes.

I know that solution. And I know it works 9 times out of 10. However, I still find myself not want to apply it to the first sign of distress.

Then again, I’m in the same way about taking medication. I should really, really, really sick before I even think of taking something.

So often, we think of patience as the work harder, such as pushing through it, like forcing myself to work hard and “finish.” And there is value to it.

However, in this case, I talked about persistence as more of a willingness to repeat the actions you already * know * works for you. So, if you know that the newsletter in plain text format is best for you, do not let yourself wondering whether you should publish in HTML every few months. If you know your readers respond well when you talk about your dog, do not listen to the consultant who tells you to be more buttons.

With perseverance, I ask you to commit to blazing your own trail, doing things your own way. Survive in it. And do not worry about what everyone says, or what is working for someone else.
